Can you put real daisies in your hair?

Yesterday I learned how to do a really pretty dutch side braid and I think it would look even better if I put little daisies in it. I don't want to spend any money buying plastic ones, so would it be okay to pick real ones from my garden? Or would they wilt over the course of a few hours? Sorry, such a dumb question:p thanks guys x
