Is this common for 6th graders now a days?

Kids do seem to be getting younger my cousin in grade four has a cellphone and facebook, talks to me about makeup, jewelry, brand name clothing, , and refuses to wear anything that isn't Ambercombie and Fitch. When I was her age I wore old navy, hated combing my hair, and played red at recess. Im 16 I got my phone last year and facebook 2 years ago. I didn't start wearing designer or brand name clothes until grade 7 and even then my entire wardrobe wasn't designer (still not A&F I have more of a fashion sense than to wear clone clothes) until grade 9. Unfortunately acting too old for your age is normal for kids now.
