I am doing the MC for our Director's farewell. Can someone tell me how to start and end the ceremony?

I was working very closely with the Director and hence everyone decided that I should do the MC, but I just don't know where to start, what to say and how to end. I would be really grateful if some one could key in the wordings or else just point me to some websites or blogs for help.
