When do you think is the right age to stop picking your child's friends?

My mom is always trying to pick my friends. I'm 13. She always picks the goody good girls who are afraid of dirt and who take offence to everything and who are annoying. I'm the type of person who loves being in the woods and in the dirt (to a certain extent) and I like hanging out with dudes (less drama) and I can actually take a joke. They take offence to me saying I hate Zack Efron :/ it's soooooooooo annoying!
