Do moth spray/ decrease a dogs ability to follow a scent?

I've read about moth giving of supposedly dangerous fumes, and can be deadly if ingested. Nut just out of interest, but are these fumes strong enough to mask another animals or objects scent? I've heard that it makes dogs sneeze...
