When will Americans realize there will never be peace in the Middle East?
There will never ever be peace in the Middle East. Even if the Balfour Treaty was overturned and Israel was disbanded tomorrow, there would still be political turmoil over there. Don't forget the Kurds want their own country. The British have tried to stabilize the Middle East. So did the Russians, the Persians, the Romans, the Egyptians, and even the Ancient Greeks, and yrians. No world superpower has ever achieved it. What makes us so arrogant to think that we can make the difference? Not ever problem in this world has an American solution. I hear people expressing their concerns about Iran. Let us not forget it was we who made Iran the country they are today. We were the ones who put The Shah in power after we overthrew Mohammed Mossadegh so the British could have complete control over the Anglo-Iranian oil company. My question is why haven't we done anything about Osama Bin Laden? Why aren't we at war with Afghanistan? Where is McCain's exit strategy for Iraq? The Iraqis aren't the ones harboring the world's most wanted fugitive. Why are we in bed with the Saudis when they hate the Israelis just as much as the Iranians do? Are we forgetting that 15 of those 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis? The other 4 were from the Arabian peninsula. Can someone help me figure out why there are so many people out there who just don't get it because I'm having a hard time getting my head around this one.
